Welcome to the website of Hamanako Yamabuki, introducing Unagi (eels)
to all the people from overseas living in Japan.

What is Unagi?
Unagi is one of the edible fish.
Some countries ban people from eating Unagi (eels) because their
skin is slippery and awkward-looking, however, els have been eaten
since the Jomon period (around 1100-300 B.C.) in Japan.
Since a new cookery of eels, splitting and grilling an eel to remove
fat effectively (Kabayaki), was introduced in the middle of the Edo
period (1603-1867), Unagi became one of the fancy meals for Japanese.
Hamanako Yamabuki has Kabayaki as well as Shirayaki, Tsukudani, vacuum
packed sprinkles for Ochazuke and eel bone snacks.
